Vantagepoint Dashboards

Create Dashboards

Create dashboards from the Dashboard form, then add existing dashparts or create new ones as part of the setup flow. This modernized version keeps the original procedure but separates the main path from optional variations.

Device limitation

These steps do not apply when you use Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone, because the dashboard editing experience depends on drag-and-drop interactions.

Before you start

You must have the access rights required to create dashboards. If you create a dashboard while logged in with a specific language, the language used when you created the dashboard is retained even if you later log in with a different language.

Create the dashboard shell

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Dashboards.
  2. Open an existing dashboard context:
    • If no dashboards exist, select Dashboard.
    • If dashboards already exist, select one from My Dashboards, Personal, or All Dashboards, depending on your access rights.
  3. On the Dashboard form, click Edit Mode.
  4. On the edit mode toolbar, click New Dashboard.
  5. In the Create New Dashboard dialog box, enter a dashboard name.
  6. Click Create.

The new dashboard opens immediately and becomes the current working dashboard.

Add content to the dashboard

  1. On the edit mode toolbar, click Dashpart Library.
  2. Drag dashparts from the Available Dashparts list onto the dashboard area.
  3. Repeat until the dashboard contains the content you need.
Optional step: move or resize the dashparts before you save

After the dashparts are on the dashboard:

  • Move a dashpart by dragging it to a new location.
  • Resize a dashpart by dragging its lower-right corner.

System dashparts cannot be resized.

Finish and share

  1. If you want other users or roles to use the dashboard, click Share on the edit mode toolbar.
  2. On Share this Dashboard, select the appropriate roles and employees.
  3. Click Save in the share dialog box.
  4. On the Dashboard form, click Save again to save the dashboard itself.
Why this page is structured this way

The original source combines the main procedure with a nested branch for creating a new dashpart during setup. Tabs make that branching clearer without losing the underlying task logic.
